PARRISH, Fla. — August 19, 2026 — North River Ranch in Manatee County has renamed its central, 12-acre amenity hub to Camp Hidden Creek. The new name reflects the discovery of a quiet, winding creek that runs through the heart of North River Ranch, with roots stretching back to the early 1900s. North River Ranch is the award-winning master-planned community developed by Southwest Florida land developer Neal Land & Neighborhoods.
The “hidden” creek still flows through North River Ranch today. It winds behind the community’s Clubhouse, travels north beneath Longmeadow Avenue, and reappears near the Bike Pump Park before continuing toward North River Ranch Trail – the community’s main east-west corridor. The renaming to Camp Hidden Creek is designed to give this landmark, and the history it represents, a permanent place in the community’s identity.
“The Camp Hidden Creek name is a special way of honoring the land and the people who moved through it long before North River Ranch existed,” said John A. Neal, president of Neal Land & Neighborhoods. “This was once active ranching country, and landowners traveling north to Ybor City and Tampa used the property as a rest stop and a place to water their livestock. The creek has always been here, quietly running through the heart of the community, and now it has a name that reflects that story.”
Over the coming months, North River Ranch will add new trails, pathways, passive green spaces, and scenic outlooks to the Camp Hidden Creek acreage, further deepening the community’s Natural and Native program.
Camp Hidden Creek at North River Ranch anchors a range of amenities, including the central Clubhouse that features gathering areas, a makerspace and business center, individual workspaces, and the Canteen – a self-service snack and coffee bar. Residents also continue to enjoy the Headwaters Swim Center, a plunge pool with a double-loop slide, the Outpost Activity Center’s game room and screened porch, the Great Lawn, an extensive trail network with outdoor FitStations, the Bike Pump Park, a challenge course, and pickleball courts, all located at Camp Hidden Creek.
