Parrish, Fla. (May 1, 2023) – The first annual North River Ranch Trail Run benefitting the Parrish Firefighters Association was a complete success, with 139 runners participating in the 5K Race and the 1 Mile Fun Run. The family-friendly race hosted by North River Ranch was held in March to coincide with the opening of the new Fort Hamer Road extension, improving the region’s connectivity and access. North River Ranch is the award-winning, master-planned community in Parrish, developed by local land developer Neal Land & Neighborhoods.
With proceeds of the race specifically benefitting the Parrish Firefighters Association, Neal Land & Neighborhoods presented the fire department with a $2,500 check this past Friday, April 28.
Participants raced through the community along North River Ranch’s Greenway and interconnected trails, which loop in and out of the neighborhoods and will extend to approximately 26 miles at completion. The Greenway, the main pedestrian walkway, is one of the central features of North River Ranch that enhances the active living experience encouraged in this new home community.
“We just recently celebrated the opening of the Fort Hamer Road extension with local officials and project partners, but we also wanted to celebrate this significant milestone with the community,” said John A. Neal, president of Neal Land & Neighborhoods. “Following the success of our Touch-A-Truck event last year, we couldn’t think of a better way than to host a fun outdoor activity that brings the community together to connect and enjoy one of the many highlights of our community, the trails. We’re thrilled to have seen such a great response from the community, and we look forward to seeing the trail run expand in the years to come.”
Race winners were presented with Top Overall placement plaques according to their age category, and each participant received a runner’s medal.

Thanks to the homebuilding sponsors, six raffle prizes were awarded to participating attendees.
